No one wants to be a Virgin, when everybody is watching. Fear of Missing out – FOMO – is a basic human state of mind, and social media is ideal for tapping into these forces. With a tailor-made targeted digital campaign using Game of Thrones season 7 as the hook, we succeeded in steering both Watchers and Virgins towards engagement on HBO’s owned channels and optimizing sales. Season 7th smashed viewer record and through high engagement and new subscribers we managed to get a ROMI at 8.
